O, The Oprah Magazine
PUBLICATION REDESIGN & ART DIRECTION
We were asked to design a special anniversary issue of O, The Oprah Magazine by Susan Casey, the Editor-in-Chief. Ā It was a celebration of 10 wonderful years of excellent journalism. We flooded the publication with an abundance of color, delicious typography and beautiful photography.
This quickly led to us being asked to redesign theĀ magazine. Our work had to project the dignity and strength that define the Oprah brand, but also be feminine, compelling and culturally significant. Our look was inspired by the idea of a circle, the ultimate design. The O is circular, so from there, everything flowed fairly easily. We wanted the rubrics and graphic style to be warm, and approachable ā¦ like Oprah. The mantra was: We had to be delightful. We had to be abundant. And above all, aspirational.
